Prague

These are some of the most widely recognized sites of Prague.  Above left, Tanya and I are standing on Karluv Most (the Charles Bridge), which was built in 1357.  Above right is Tyn Church off of Staromestke Namesti (Old Town Square).  Below left is Tanya alone on the Bridge.  And below right is a very dark picture of Vaclavske Namesti (Wenceslas Square) at night.  This is the largest square in Prague, and it was the main site of the student protests that helped topple the communist regime in 1989.
Tanya sent me these pictures after the floods in August.  The one on the left is the entrance to the Vltavska metro station, which will likely be closed for the rest of the year.  Although Tanya lives close by, her apartment building remained high and dry.
We trainees mostly lived in the Hotel Dum, which is way on the south side of Prague.  On the right is our view from the tram stop Cerny Kun' (Black Horse).
On the left is my room in the Hotel Dum.  It was pretty basic, but it met my needs.  I shared a suite with Beth, who is pictured below with Joshua, who gave me the haircut.
This is part of my group of teacher trainees:  Joshua, Beth, Emily, Stefan, Alice, Brooke.
