Supervision(what it is and how it works)
Supervision is an hour each week, in which the supervisor/JCSC get together and discuss the last week and the upcoming week. It is the place to discuss any issues you might have about an upcoming program, event, etc. You should make a regular meeting time and stick with it!!
Suggestions for next year!!!
After having spent a year on the job, I have learned many things. Some of this wisdom I offer you is due to the rocky road we had in terms of Hillel space this year, some due to growing pains, some due to sheer joy of certain people! So sit back, relax and enjoy the suggestions...

1) When you first come to UMBC, spend the first week just walking around the campus. Go all around the campus, see all the Residential areas, find the dining hall, peek in every room in the Commons, walk down Academic Way a couple of times, park in a new parking area each day, get a book from the library, eat on the 3rd floor in the Commons, just EXPLORE, see the daycare center, etc.

2) Spend more time in the Resident Halls. I barely scratched the surface of possibilities there and I think if there was a JCSC with such a passion for Residence Hall programming it would be wonderful!! ( and not to mention more fun for you!)

3) Talk to everyone. Every time you meet someone it is a good networking time for you. You never know when or where you will meet this person again but chances are you will. Everyone can help you in some way and you vice versa.

4) Demand more from the staff of HGB. We are all professionals and if you need help with a program/event/whatever, talk it up and ask for advice from them.

5)Have lunch with the students in random areas on and off campus. I never ate by the pond, or really went off campus to have lunch.

6)
