Notes from Catholic Church per Pat Byrne Thurmes. Witnesses at the wedding of Lillian and James were Mr and Mrs Ed Hoff.

Lillian was a sweet woman, loved by her granddaughters. She was a devoted catholic who loved going to the church to play bingo, and was known to get up very early to go to church services. She also liked to be driven to yard sales in the area. She had worked very hard as a young woman to take care of her mother Katie, before she died. Lillian was married in 1935 at age 34. She had her first child, Jerome Bernard at age 36, she was 39 years old when daughter Eleanor Mary Kirk was born. She enjoyed sewing and cooking and hearing news of her grand children and great grandchildren. We all miss her and think of her often.

Lillian did not marry until age 35, she worked in a store in Cuba City for many years as a young woman. She had saved up a great deal of money which she lost when the banks failed in the great depression.
