Interview #1: Rosica PR Company
Reflection: This was the first organization I interviewed. As I was looking through Rosica’s web page, I couldn’t find a page with simple and quick information about the company, such as: location of offices. As I did a phone-to-phone interview with Chris Rosica, he was open to answering questions but did not go out of the way to give follow up or additional information. There was no unexpected information given during this interview. I was expecting information from the website : number of offices and size of organization.
As I was going through the interview process I found this company very inclusive and not very open to giving out information. Chris Rosica was a very simple person who gave out the information asked for and nothing further. The interview was not pleasant it was descent.
Interview #2: Edelman Production Firm
Reflection: This was the second organization I interviewed. Just by looking through Edelman’s website, I was beginning to fall in love with the company and all it had to offer. Edelman’s website was very detailed and gave contact information on every page I visited. Their company demonstrated diversity among their employees and office locations....not limiting their company to just the US. I did a e-mail interview with Suzanne Haynes, and she was very open to my questions and gave me some unexpected information about her company and what she did to get there.
Interview #3: University of Louisiana at Monroe (ULM)
Reflection: I interviewed Dr. Mark Arant of ULM over the phone and he was very helpful with my choice of graduate schools. ULM has special courses with concentration in film production which attracted me the most. The 66% job rate out of college attracted me as well.
Interview #4: University of Texas at Austin
Reflection: as I did a phone-to-phone interview with Dr. Isabella Cunningham of University of Texas at Austin, I fell in love with the Sallie Hayes program that concentrates on Public affairs. As I was interviewing Dr. Cunningham, she was very confident in the direction the LBJ program was going. This program’s concentration on what I want to do makes me feel comfortable in putting my trust in this program and joining it. The 76% hiring rate out of college was a shocking rate and helped me to make further selections.
Interview #5: Florida A&M State University (FAMU)
Reflection: I interviewed Bettye Grabel of FAMU via e-mail. She was more than welcome to provide me with information. There is a school for journalism and communications that stood out from the other schools. They have a bachelor program for film production that really caught my interest. This will help me with my career goal and further my discovery of my EXACT career goal. 74% rate was a great factor in the selection process.
