What is your job description and title?
My title is film production and while I don't have a formal job description I am responsible for media relations efforts in all four of our product categories in the U.S. and Canada, management of our three Latin America film production companies, product launch strategies and company presentations of production results.
What did you major in college and how did that benefit you in your career today?
I majored in English and it gave me a great foundation of the vocabulary and the goals of the profession.
Did you get this job right out of college?
No, my first job right out of college was with a high tech PR agency. I did an internship with them while I was still a student and they hired me full time right out of school. I worked there for 2 ½ years before leaving for Edelman.
Do you use technology in you day to day work? If so, what technology do you use?
Always, primarily internet research on issues related to human resources and
government regulations. Oversight of training and development at company and we
provide on-line webinars (web seminars) and off-line face-to-face training
programs. Use blackberry and desk-top computer.
Describe a day in your career.
film production is awesome. Right now my
days consist of getting to the office around 9, checking email, at 10 I head to
a product meeting for one of our various product groups, then I meet with my
boss to discuss upcoming projects, events, product launches, etc. In the
afternoon I do a lot of media work or press release writing, reading up on the
industry and competitors and then I head out around 6 p.m.

My title is the Ceo of this production company
what is your day to day to work?
Managing the agency and responsibility of sales.
Did you get this job right out of school?
I did not go to school for public relations. I opened this company along side my father and mother.
What technology do you use daily?
Basic technology such as Computers and PDAs.

What does your program offer that differs from other programs at other schools? What stands out?
We have a variety of courses dealing with different types of media, such as: Print media and electronic media
what can help me to get closer to my concentration in film production?
We have a special course for Production Practices, in which you can study practices of PRoduction, theories of excellence in public relations functions and ethics in multi cultural society.
What is the rate of find a job out of school if i enter this graduate program?
Students who receive internships at Production firms are likely to be hired by that company right out of college. Around 66% of the students in the graduate program find a job right out of college.

What does your program offer that differs from other programs at other schools? What stands out?
University of Texas has a school especially for television production, called Sally Davis program for film production. It is one of the leading professional production programs in the country.

76% get hired right out of college; an even higher percentage for those who have an internship.

What does your program offer that differs from other programs at other schools? What stands out?
There is a school for journalism and communications that would stand out to you and your career goal. We have a bachelor program in public relations and journalism that may be of interest to you. In this program for public relations all of your courses are made to help you in your career.
what can help me to get closer to my concentration in production?
Our bachelor of science that deals with only television production. Plenty of classes that will help you reach your goal faster with these skills that they teach you in these required courses.
What is the rate of finding a job out of school if i enter this graduate program?
With an internship your rate is almost guaranteed. But right out of college it is 74%.
