To become very skilled in acting a person should master the following techniques:
- Vocal technique
- movement
- art of " not acting"- meaning it should come from a real place
It is also very important to:
- always believe in yourself
- practice your craft
- read
- ACTING
- the performance of a part or role in a drama acting(a): serving temporarily especially as a substitute; "the acting president"
I have been in many plays at professional theatres, my high school and now it is my major at Spelman College.

I Have also done professional work on television. I Co-stared on the kid's television show "Zoom". I not only learned about acting, but I was able to learn about what it takes to produce a television show. I was able to talk to and watch the camera men and the producers.After being on the show for two years i became a part of the professional union "Aftra". Being a part of a union helps actors to get paying jobs.

I am Rachel Redd, a second year student at Spelman College. I have decided to major in Theater. I have always had a desire to act, as well as go behind the scenes and write the stories of others . I love being in the know about television, movies and celebrities and knowing what is going on before all of my friends. I love telling people's stories!!
I love to act but my ultimate goal is to be a TV Producer. Upon graduating from Spelman College, I plan on going to Film School. I plan on owning my own production company within the next 10 years.
