| DREAMS
03.23.06 It happened then that someone did this and that, and who can remember what was really going on? If she hadnt closed her eyes for those two weeks Things would be as they were. She cant decide the better cost of living: then or now Or maybe tomorrow, when Hope Will invite her into the house of Fantasy I want you to take those thoughts and put them right out of your mind Perhaps next time You dream to Rachmaninovs languid chords Or John Hartfords tingling banjo Put them right out of your mind For business and private matters There is nothing wrong with you Everyone has their dreams, Those that shouldnt come true, But yours almost did. It defies all reason That your Abstract became Concrete. Reality whispers: Im a major let-down like this And when you sink beneath the folds Im lost If it was all just a wonderful, iridescent dream, Then I close my eyes to dream again. Have a good night (and sweet dreams) as well Right out of your mind Recently, ? Ive taken up residence in your disposal Its the best place to watch you when you think no ones around. Ill notice you washing the dishes and then drown in the rejected food poured down the drain. |
