Classroom Expectations
As my students, I expect you to...
1. Be on time!  Students must be in their seats ready to work when the bell rings.
2. Be prepared!  Bring all required materials to class everyday.
3. Be respectful!  Show respect to everyone and everything.
4. Be honest!  Honesty is expected of all students at all times.
5. Take notes writing down all steps involved in solving the problem.
6. Ask questions AS SOON AS you don't understand.
7. Do all assigned homework.
8. Believe in yourself.

Loose-leaf paper
Binder (at least 1 in)
Textbook
TI-83 Graphing Calculator (suggested)
As your teacher, you can expect me to...
1. Recognize that you may fear/dislike math and be patient and compassionate when teaching.
2. Adapt teaching strategies to appeal to all your learning styles.
3. Respect all students' math related questions.
4. Identify students in need of extra help and make certain they get it.
5. Actively involve students in class, assign homework daily, and quiz frequently, knowing that student discipline comes from teacher discipline.
Assignments
1. At the beginning of each chapter, an assignment sheet will be given.  It will have the due dates of all homework, quizzes, tests, and projects.
2. All homework is due at the beginning of class.  NO LATE HOMEWORK WILL BE ACCEPTED.
3.Math journal entries will be written at the end of every class period.  Students will be expected to write in their own words what they learned in class.  They may also take this opportunity to ask me questions.

Make-Up Work
1. For assignments that cannot go home, students may make them up before or after school or during their lunch. They have five days from the day of their return to make these assignments.  I will not hunt you down to make up work.
2. Students excused for school sponsored activities are expected to complete their work before the day of their absence.
3. It is the student's responsibility to find out what he or she missed while they were out.
4. Any assignment not completed by the deadline will result in a grade of ZERO.

After every test, a progress report will be given with all their grades from that unit.  This needs to be signed
and returned for a grade.
Retests
Retests will be allowed if a student corrects his/her test on a seperate sheet of paper.  A different test will given during a scheduled time.  If the second grade is higher, the two grades will be averaged for a new test grade.
Letter Grades
Charleston County School District implements the South Carolina Uniform Grading Scale.
        A     93-100
        B     85-92
        C     77-84
        D     70-76
        F     0-69
