Lord of the Rings

You have to see this movie! And not just "see" the movie -- You have to go see it in the theater. I have never been so impressed by a movie in the theater. The special effects were amazing. The cast was perfect. And just the whole story was excellent. By the end of the movie I was so involved in all the characters. I want to go see it again over and over. And I can't wait for the rest of the trilogy to come out.

Frodo Baggins He is the main character. A hobbit who ends up with The One Ring. He is played by Elijah Wood.

Sam This is Frodo's best friend. He is played by Sean Astin. You may remember him from such films as "Goonies", "Rudy", and "Encino Man".

Gandalf This is Gandalf the Wizard. I remember an episode of "Friends" where Ross and Chandler mention "Gandalf the Wizard". I never knew who they were talking about until now. Gandalf is played by Sir Ian McKellen.

Strider/Aragorn He is a human member of the Fellowship and a friend of Gandalf. He is played by Viggo Mortensen. And if you ask me, I think Stephen Taylor would have been very good in this role.

Arwen Yes, and this is the lovely Arwen the Elf played by Liv Tyler.

Legolas This guy represents the Elves in the Fellowship and is very skilled with the bow and arrow. He is played by Orlando Bloom.

Galadriel This is the "Lady of the Golden Wood". She has one of the three elf rings and is also Arwen's grandmother. She is played by Cate Blanchett.

Pippin One of the four hobbits in the Fellowship, he and Merry provide some of the comic relief in the movie. He is played by Billy Boyd.

Merry One of the four hobbits. He is played by Dominic Monaghan.

Elrond This elf is Arwen's father. He established Rivendell as a refuge against Sauron. He is played by Hugo Weaving.

Boromir He is the second human member of the Fellowship. This guy strikes me as someone with a bit of an attitude, but he is a great warrior. He is played by Sean Bean.

Gimli This little guy represents the Dwarves in the Fellowship. He is very skilled with an axe. He is played by John Rhys-Davies.

RINGWRAITHS!
