MY NEW FOUND LOVE OF PHYSICS...
...All began this summer, when I went on a day trip with my mummy, my daddy, my sister and my friend Stephanie to the national space center in Leicester.
It was woked! We saw lots and LOTS of spacey stuff like models of planets and really accurate models of space stations and capsuals (both of which I went in!) The model of the space station was coolest, cos I played with all the switches and dials just like this guy would have done:
He's called John Glenn the astronaut and is therefore my new hero. According to my 2.50 programme the space center was built to encourage young earthlings to think about a career in space. I therefore took it upon myself to think about a career in space technology and remembered my dad telling me that astronauts sometimes feel travel sick for 3 days straight, which I don't think would be at all good for my mental or physical health! I have therefore ruled out a career in space travel but not in space research altogether!
As well as really real looking rockets (including a sponge 'build it yourself' one!) there was a REAL rocket which you can look at from all differant heights up the space tower! At the top there was an extra bonus of being able to see all the sights of Leicester including B&Q!!
In conclusion I would definately recommend the space center to a friend! Theres loads of stuff to do and best of all you'll come out with the incentive to learn all about lots more sciencey stuff as I will no doubt get to do very soon!
