Rachael Stirling graduated from the National Youth Theatre Acting Course under Dean Byfield in 1995 and from Edinburgh University in 1999. An accomplished piano player and alto/soprano singer, she has acted in such plays as The Odd Couple and Othello, as Desdemona, and played in the 1998 rock revival movie Still Crazy, directed by Brian Gibson. Stirling appeared in Clare Peploe�s feature Triumph Of Love with Ben Kingsley and Mira Sorvino in 2000 and joined Martin Landua, Geraldine Chaplin and Alan Bates in the cast of the NBC Bible mini-series In The Beginning, to play the young Rebeccah. She was also on stage at London�s Donmar Warehouse in Helpless.
