Rachael's History

Rachael's a fairly new face on the television block, but she'll certainly come to the public's attention in Tipping the Velvet, the historical lesbian drama on this October. In an all-star cast, Rachael joins Keeley Hawes, Jodhi May, Anna Chancellor, Hugh Bonneville, John Bowe and Johnny Vegas, in this sexually explicit production.

What's she been in?

Rachael made her first appearance on the stage, starring in Othello at the National Youth Theatre in 1997.

Her first screen appearance was a year later in the British comedy film Still Crazy. A great start in films, her co-stars included such greats as Stephen Rea, Billy Connolly, Timothy Spall and Jimmy Nail.

Maybe Baby (Hughe Laurie and Joely Richardson) followed, which was panned by the critics.

Other film projects have included Complicity (with her Tipping the Velvet co-star Keeley Hawes), Another Life with Vanity Fair's Natasha Little, 2001'2 The Triumph of Love starring Miro Sorvino, and Redemption Road.

Rachael does have experience in television also. Her first TV break was only two years ago when she starred in American mini-series In the Beginning - charting God's creation of the universe and mankind. It may have sounded a bit suspect, but still, Rachel got to act opposite such luminaries as Jacqueline Bisset and Art Malik.

Rachael's most recent TV appearance, apart from Tipping the Velvet was last year's modern reworking of Othello. Again, the drama was headlined by co-star Keeley Hawes.

Rachael is set for major media recognition with Tipping the Velvet, headlining the production and appearing in nearly every single scene.
