16 October 2001 - I finally got to see Singin In The Rain six days ago. It was absolutely brilliant. The big disappoint was I went to stage door but Rachael didn't come out. I'd come all the way from Adelaide to see the show and her and she didn't come out the stage door. But I met Jackie Love, Wayne Scott Kermond, Maggie Kirkpatrick, Glenn Butcher and Pia Morley. It is a show not be missed. It is running until January. It then heads to Brisbane in February. It then comes to Adelaide in April. Go to the Singin In The Rain section of this site for my detailed review, plus cast and information from the programme.
On Ten on Sunday, the cast of the show were featured on Huey's TV Dinner. Rachael did a recipe. I'm not entirely sure what the recipe was. If someone could send me more information about this show as I missed the first ten minutes of it.
3 October 2001 - Rachael Beck appeared on GMA
last Friday (September 21) with Todd McKenney and Wayne Scott Kermond to
talk about Singin In The Rain in Melbourne. They also sang the title
song (for those who don't know what the title song is, it's Singin In
The Rain).
Did Melbourne viewers catch the Singin In The
Rain special on Nine/WIN? For the people who missed it, it was an excellent
special - the perfect introduction to the show. It was last Sunday. Brisbane
viewers need to look out for it on the Nine Network in Feburary or March
2002.

September 2001 - David Atkins appeared on GMA a few Thursday ago. He spoke
about Singin In The Rain. Regarding the seasons, he said that following
Melbourne, it will venture to Brisbane in February. Following which it
will go to Adelaide (possibly around April, May or June) and then to Perth.
He didn't mention anything about the Asian Tour.
Keep in mind to watch GMA, particularly over the next month for items about Singin In The Rain, particularly the Melbourne opening.
One of Rachael's friends, June Salter has died after a brief battle with cancer. She died on Saturday night. Rachael worked with her in the Perth season of The Sound of Music, where she played Frau Schmidt. She will be missed by all who admired her. She played in just about every single Australian TV series in history.
In Sydney, they showed a special about Singin In The Rain on TV. Whether they will show it other states, I don't know. I know it was definitely not shown in Adelaide. I wrote an e-mail to Channel Nine about it, but I haven't really had a reply about it. Just a standard 'we'll take your suggestion on board if possible' e-mail (I know it's standard because I sent another e-mail about a different matter and I got sent the same e-mail back. But they sent me a proper e-mail about a month later). If anyone else didn't see in their state or wanted it repeated, please write Channel Nine e-mails and/or letters in regard to this matter. That way it would come on by popular demand.
The other e-mail I wrote to Channel Nine was to suggest Rachael for 'This Is Your Life.' It is about time Rachael was surprised on the show. After all, her career has last for many years. I got an e-mail back a little while ago, saying that they will keep in mind for the 2002 season of the show, which will make it hard for them to film because, I believe, filming takes place mostly in Sydney (Anyway, all the musicals they have done has been in Sydney). Note: I also suggested Anthony Warlow, because he is well overdue for them to do his career.
26 June 2001 - Rachael was interviewed on Channel Seven (Adelaide) for the special, 'Shout! - The David Campbell Story.' She talked about his talent and zeal for performing. She worked with David in the Sydney Season of 'Les Miserables.' This 30-minute special was shown on Sunday (June 24th). Whether it will be on in other states, I do not know.
5 June 2001 - Firstly, I apologies for not updating for so long, even though their has been a lot going on in Rachael's life. I've been having problems with HTML. But they seem to be fixed now.
Singin In The Rain has opened in Sydney and it having a very successful season. Reviews have been added. The show will go to Melbourne's Regent Theatre in September, then head around the rest of the country (Adelaide, Brisbane, Perth) and following which, it will embark on an Asian Tour.
Still no word on a Singin In The Rain Cast Recording being released as yet.
Rachael and the other two stars of the show (Todd McKenney and Wayne Scott Kermond) appeared on GMA (Good Morning Australia with Bert Newton) last week. They discussed the show and sang a song from the show, Good Morning.
13 February 2001 - According to a back dated article in The Age (from December 2000), 'Singin in the Rain' is opening at the Regent Theatre from September 8th. Following which, it will come to Adelaide in January 2002, and tour the rest of the country.
Rachael as Maria in/and 'The Sound of Music' played its last performance on Sunday (February 11th).
Rachael was interviewed on GMA yesterday.
2 February 2001 - I saw Rachael in 'Sound of Music' for the third and last time, also meeting her for the fifth time. The season of 'Sound of Music' in Adelaide finishes in 10 days on Sunday, February 11, which ends the highly successful tour of the show, which has broken all records in every city it's been to. It's been sold-out in every city it's performed in. Rachael has had grand reviews. Even people who saw Lisa McCune perform the role said that Rachael was even better.
23 January 2001 - Rachael got married on Saturday to TV celebrity (star of 'Stingers'), Ian Stenlake. They met each other about five years ago, and got engaged over six months ago. She is believed to be married in New South Wales, but we will know the details definitely soon, as they have signed an exclusive deal with a woman's magazine. Apparently, she got prepared on the day in Adelaide by hours of facial and body treatments at Jurlique in Adelaide. So look out for that exclusive in the woman's magazines. This information was taken from the Adelaide Sunday Mail, dated January 21, 2001, so I don't know if all of this is true. We shall find out in the next couple of weeks though.
11 January 2001 - I've finally seen 'The Sound of Music.' It was brilliant. Rachael was perfection, as per usual, and the show itself was fantastic. I have written a review in 'The Sound of Music' section of this site. I will be writing another report about the show since I am going to see it again on the 25th, and I shall hopefully be seeing Rachael after the show once more. But anyone in Adelaide or is going into Adelaide has got to see the show. It is a show definitely NOT to be missed, particularly because Rachael is in it.
On January 4th , there were items on the channel two, nine and ten news about 'The Sound of Music.' Rachael appeared on all of them. Sounds from the show have been taken from the channel two and nine reports. The complete tail end of 'Do-Re-Mi' and 'My Favourite Things' is available from the 'Sound of Music' section of this site.
The show has broken box office records in Adelaide. Pre sales before opening night has topped over $3 million.
3 January 2001 - Rachael was interviewed on 891AM ABC Adelaide Radio. I missed the interview so could someone e-mail me who has it, so I can organise to get a copy.
The first preview tonight for 'The Sound of Music' in Adelaide. 2 days to go for the premiere. Make sure you tune into all the news today and for the next week for reports on the show, particularly Sunday, the day after opening night.
She appeared on 'Today Tonight' in Adelaide two nights in a row. Last Thursday, she appeared on a report about rehearsals for 'The Sound of Music,' and said a few words to the camera. She was also on the following day, Friday. David Atkins was interviewed, and they showed her rehearsing for the advert, and bits of the advert. She did not talk straight to the camera.
Also,
watch out for 'Surprise, Surprise' on channel 9 in a few weeks. They're
currently repeating the episodes, and it should be in about two weeks when
they repeat the episode which Rachael appeared in.
