| Mac was a 13 y/o, black TB cross. I bought him for $800 and he was half starved, neglected, and apparently had been abused by his previous owners. He was a very non-trusting horse, and even in 3 years of working with him...although we were great partners and wonderful friends, he still didn't fully trust me. He was always afraid when taken to new and strange places, so his carrer as a show horse was severly limited, but all of his little "quirks" taught me how to really ride a horse, and stick like glue when something goes wrong! But one horribly unforgettable Saturday, he was hit by a truck and killed in late January of 1999. Even though our time together was relatively short...he taught me so much about over- coming your fears, and the ultimate partnership the comes between a horse and his rider. |
