| What is witchcraft? well, witches are not mythical, or legendary. They are some of the kindest, wisest, and smartest group of people. And no, they do not worship satan. in fact, a wiccan cannot worship satan, because they dont even believe in him!!!! A witch is simply someone who believes in the olde ways, the goddess, karma,magic, spirituality, and nature. A real witch believes in doing no harm to others, and no, does not use magick to put out negative forces that are un neccesarily needed. There are still traces of biased vision on wiccans in the U.S. this has been happening for centuries. It had started somwhere near the 1700's when supposed "witches" were accused of witchcraft and were killed. The catholic church led missions to destroy all "witches" and to rid the area of evil. Many were killed, and even the scare of "witches" had made its way to New England. The true pagans did what they could to hide their secret ways of life, mostly men and women who were unsatisfied with the suffocating Chrisitian lifestyle, who had seeken out the olde ways. It was only about 50 years ago that a retired war soldier (name given later) had been accepted into an underground society that had existed for centuries. He later published what he had learn from these people, thus giving us our reference to wicca today. Today wicca is very much alive, and more and more people are getting in touch with their spiritual sides, and discovering the path to the olde ways. Hopefully in the future however, more people will see the truth. |
| How does Wicca Work? |
| A real Wiccan believes in two gods, god and goddess. They worship the god and goddess in all three of their forms. These are celebrated through the eight holidays, and seasonal changes of the year. these holidays are known to wiccans as sabbats.the sabats are: Samhain Imbolc Beltane Lughnasadh Spring equinox Summer solstice autumn equinox Yule And as espected wiccans can raise powerful energies. They use nature to aquire energy by using the four elements of nature, earth, air, fire and water SO yes , it is true that wiccans practice magick!! wiccans also believe in karma and the threefold law: whatever you do comes back threefold. thats why you wont meet a real pagan that practices evil. Its just not worth it.They also believe in the resting place in the afterlife, Summerland, a pagan paradise, until it is time to return to earth. aka reincarnation.. wiccans also do not believe in hell, or punishment after death. |
| Much like a catholic's cross a pentagram is a pagan's symbol of his or her religion. The four lower points of the five pointed star represent the elements, earth, air, fire water, and the top represents spirit. Satanists in the U.S. have corrupted our sign by pointing it downward to represent the devil. Although the inverted pentagram is usually affiliated with satanism, the inverted pentagram is older than that. It means the left handed path, otherwise known as baphomet.( thank you jennie for bringing that to my attention) pentagram is also called, witches' foot, goblin's foot, wizards foot, demon's cross and also druids foot. |
