Circle Casting |
whenever you perform a spell, rite, or ritual, you must always open the magic circle. This is simply the act of opening the gate between worlds, and allowing the magic flow to enter your working space temporarily. tools of circle casting: 3 white candles, water, incense of your own taste, 1 red candle, and the additional tools you will use in your spell. Set up the altar facing the east, if at all possible. Also make sure you can move around it freely. Hold your athame high above your head. Say the following: " I cast this circle in my temple for the help I seek ( state your need) god and goddess, bless me and my circle." Take the knife and draw a circle clockwise around the altar. As you draw the circle imagine a intense blue light coming from your athame and hitting the ground creating a blue fire around you.Place the knife back and light the incense. Then say, " I light this incense to reach the gods, bless my circle and bring it power. I light this in your honor." Hold the incense burner above you, feeling the power that it absorbs. Use your points. Now pour the water into the chalice: this blesses the water. now say: " I call upon the god and goddess to help me in this rite. I pour this in your honor." Sprinkle some of the blessed water on yourself and the altar. light the 3 white candles and say the following: "these are the power of the gods and are lit to keep away evil and harm from my circle. I light these in your honor." Hold one of the candles above you and feel the power. Then see a white light forming over your head. See the light fill your circle. Now light the red candle and say the following invocation " I light this to stand for life and now my circle is done. So mote it be." Your circle is now cast! |

Closing the circle |
Now that you are finished with your spell work, it is time to close the circle. closing the circle simply is cutting off the power supply, and sending it back to where it belongs. remember to always close the circle, it can be harmful if neglected to do so. Hold the knife above your head and point it to the ground. see yourself pulling the white circle off the ground and into the air. say this invocation: " I clear this circle and set it's power away. god and goddess leave in peace. I thank thee for attending. So mote it be" take the knife and point it at the ground. see the circle replacing itself. Take the knife and draw the circle over again, only counterclockwise, and feel the power come into you. place the athame back on the altar and spin it. when it stops, face that direction and clap three times. |

Reversing a Spell: Sometimes when we perform spells, we dont always think of the outcome. We may be so blind with rage, love, or hope, that we often tend to ignore the possible outcome of magic. For these reasons I have decided to tell you about widdershins. widdershins is the act of reversing or undoing a spell you have performed, before the three fold law takes place. First, begin by opening the circle. except this time however, you will walk counterclockwise, rather than clockwise. Then come up with a chant, and ask the gods to undo your spell and esplain your reason. then take an item from which you used in the spell. whether it be a candle you used in the ritual, or an herb, etc. Then after raising your energy, take the item and bury it outside in the moonlight. Remeber that widdershins is not guaranteed, sometimes the spell is like a stream, let it run it's course......... |
