| ABOUT THE VANCOUVER ISLAND RABBIT BREEDERS ASSOCIATION |
| Formed in 1918, the Vancouver Island Rabbit Breeders' Association (V.I.R.B.A.) is the oldest rabbit club in Canada. Club members come from all walks of life but share a common bond- and interest in the raising and promoting of rabbits and cavies (also known as guinea pigs) as an enjoyable and rewarding hobby. Many of our members are interested in showing their animals, but we also raise stock to sell for pets, wool, meat, and other purposes. V.I.R.B.A. sponsors local shows to promote friendly competition and to educate breeders and the general public about our hobby. Meetings are held six times per year, usually the third Friday of the month in the Greater Victoria area. Education is a feature of the meetings. For more information, or to confirm the dates of the upcoming meetings, contact our president, Judy Currie, at [email protected], or our vice president, Lois Fernyhough, at [email protected]. Visitors and new members are always welcome. |
