Birth Defects
In the Netherland Dwarf rabbit there are lots of birth defects when it comes to breeding. Here are some of the defects that are common of what I have experienced and what I have heard:
Peanut- This is a kit that is the "runt" of the litter. It cannot digest food so it only lives for about two days.
Hippo baby- This is a kit that looks sort of like a little hippo. Through my research, I've found that this is because of too much blood in its body. They only live for about 10 hrs. at the most.
Lethal Giant-  This is a kit that is about twice or even three times bigger than the average dwarf kit. Watchout for these guys because they don't let the other kits eat and they tend to push them out of the way.
Max Factor Baby- This is a kit that is born from an unknown cause. It has webbed feet and wooly fur.
False Dwarf- This kit looks nothing like a dwarf and it it one of the biggest ones in the litter. If you get a false dwarf doe, keep her! She can produce alot of babies for her size!!
Potential Dwarf- This is the kit that you will admire. Hopefully it will come out with a big dwarf head. These kits will probably live 'forever' and will have a good show stream!!!
