15/05/05  "Tournament a great success" -Colin Crayford, Tournament Director

On Sunday evening, the curtain came down on another European Club Challenge Tournament.  This year's edition was won by the Serbian team Trikotex MB followed in second place by Partille SC of Sweden.  Rabat Depiro HC, the host team of this tournament finished in 3rd place.  Aker HC of Norway finished up in 4th with Kecioren Belediye SC of Turkey in 5th.  During the presentation of trophies, Tournament Director Colin Crayford deemed the tournament a great success and showed his appreciation at the high level of organisation of the tournament.

14/05/05  Tournament Director visits Juniors' Tournament


On Saturday morning, the Tournament Director Mr. Colin Crayford will visit a Juniors tournament organised by Qormi Hockey Club at the Qormi Sports Complex.  In this tournament there are going to be teams competing from all the local Clubs in Malta.  The teams in the tournament are going to be set up on the day with players from different teams playing together.  Apart from the Tournament Director, all the official umpires of the European Club Challenge will attend to officiate some of the matches.  After that,  all the players taking part in this tournament will go to Kordin to support local Club Rabat Depiro HC in their game against Partille SC which starts at 14.30.  Before the game there is going to be live entertainment from local DJ Joe Tanti and also various activities organised for children.

07/05/05  Final Umpire List

Rabat Depiro Hockey Club are for the second consecutive time, hosting the European Hockey Championship Challenge 2 for Men between the 12th and 15th of May. Following last year's success, the European Hockey Federation has chosen the local Champions to host this tournament. Besides Rabat, the champions of Serbia & Montenegro (MB Tricotex), Sweden (Partille HC), Norway (Aker HC) and Turkey (Kecioren Belediye) will also be participating. There will be two matches on Thursday 12th and Saturday 14th and three matches on Friday 13th and Sunday 15th.

Official Reception

A reception will be held for all tournament officials, organizing committee, and two officials from each participating team on Saturday 14th May at 21:00. The reception will be held at the New Alexandra Palace Hotel, St Julians.
