W'lano and Musiith's weyr
IMPRESSED Bronze Musiith at Istabitha's Weyr
See the Candidate page
"Is that good enough for your students?" W'lano asked the journeyman harper who had come to Istabitha's while wandering.

"I believe it is..." The harper said, "it's very touching. Is it true?"

W'lano looked at the young man and nodded without saying anything. The younger man left his weyr with a scroll written edge to edge with the bars of a song about impression and newness.

It was a beautiful song, Musiith bespoke. I liked it when it was going through your head.

"I thought so too. I've a copy of it here too," he indicated his small chest of waterproof hides and scrolls. The great bronze dragon peeked into the smaller weyr area and grumbled happily.

I like it when we sing together, Musiith said.

W'lano laughed, "But I think perhaps if we did it a little farther away from the other weyrlings..."

They have no appreciation of art.
W'lano made sure that all the straps and harnesses had been oiled and checked again.

We cannot have another accident, like the young brown, Musiith bespoke.

"We never have," W'lano said, "but that's no reason not to check."

He snugged down the harness straps and finally got onto Musiith's back. The great bronze took to the air and swooped over Istabitha's weyr one more time before they left.
There will be mating flights to be had, Musiith told his rider.

"That's one good reason to come back and visit!" W'lano laughed. "But for now, we're off to the Artistic Bent wing, at the Protectorate. That will be a nice change, and people in it will be able to help us compose instead of just throwing pots or glowbaskets at us!"

The dragon gave off a grumbling laugh too, as they went between.
