Kyani chuckled at the antics of the dragons down in the lake. Yrainth took to diving deeply for the tasty fish that were found in the darkness far below. I have caught one! Do you want me to bring it to you, Kyani? I would love that, my dear, Kyani bespoke. The other dragons were getting too big to really chase after those shiny fish that he was fond of. She'd heard that there were a few who could do it, but none could do it like Yrainth. Soon the dark blue head of her dragon came bobbing up to the surface, and he erupted out of the water with a wriggling fish in his claws. I sit and wait for them to come to me, the dragon admitted. I blend in with the water! "I know you do, Yrainth! It's hard to see you out there!"

The small blue dragon came up to the weyr ledge where Kyani had bedded down for the last three-quarters Turn. Her stint in the weyrling barracks ended more than half a turn before, she got the idea that many of the green riding girls resented her Impression of a blue, and most of the blue riding boys couldn't get past her being a girl. Either way, the weyrling master at Istabitha's Weyr got them into their own weyr sooner than the rest, and it seemed that they were ready for anything else at a pace unequalled by the others as well! Though, that handsome bronze rider, Khyr's, had shown everyone that his dragon could do almost anything at a young age! Yrainth deposited the fish on the ledge, and Kyani began the task of cleaning and gutting it. Startle came darting down to pick up the scraps, and Kyani laughed. "Look, he loves it when you bring us fish!" I have eaten already, Yrainth bespoke. Why do you have to cook that? It is perfect the way it is! And Startle agrees with me! "Oh, you don't like it cooked. You're a dragon! I can't eat it raw!" Some of you people do, the dragon pointed out. "Well, yes, but I'm not so great a cook that I can get away with it." "Maybe you should become one," Than' said, announcing himself and his beautiful rare white and violet Deakoth as they landed on the ledge. Deakoth nuzzled his clutchmate, who even as a blue weyrling was nearly twice his size! "Hi Than'! Join me... Make a fire, will you?" Kyani nodded at the small cooking nook in the weyr, and they fixed a fine meal, much to the distress of the dragons, who continued protesting the cooking of perfectly good fish!

Kyani listened to what her brother Than' had to say about the formation of a new wing, and nodded. "I think it's best if we stay together. You and I both like to build, not tinker." Her words made sense. Than' looked at her lovely blue dragon, and chuckled. "It seems that our work wore out both our dragons. They seem so peaceful, almost like hatchlings again." Kyani laughed quietly, "sure, hatchlings that are ... a dragonlength long!"
