Day 4--10 Feb 03

Point of Ayre to Laxey
Day 4, turned out to be the wetest day of the walk. Initially, for the walk down the sands from Point of Ayre, the weather was fair, but as Ramsey was approached, it was clear that it was worsening, with very light rain. However, after a 'morning coffee' stop in the shelter near Ramsey Harbour and bridge, the wind strength began to increase, and the rain became heavier. This will be seen by the raindrops on some of the pictures. The conditions reduced the opportunities for photography, and by about 4.30 pm we had arrived in Laxey, where most of the group made for a pub away from the sea front. Apparently a new carpet had been laid only the day before, which 15 sodden walkers prompmtly trampled across. Thankfully we were all made very welcome, and took the opportunity to begin to dry out and warm up against the three radiators!
