Rick Raab, owner of Raab Custom,  started in trucks at age 17. He quickly progressed into show trucks, winning many trophies with his '87 Chevy named "Bow Tie Affair". Not satisfied with showing street trucks, "Bow Tie Affair" was re-built to a modified class with 2.5 ton rears, 4 wheel steering, 44" tires, side-tilting bed, tilt front, and convertible top. "Bow Tie Affair" got National exposure when 4 Wheel + Off Road Magazine featured the truck plus giving it a cover shot. Later the truck was picked as one of the Top 10 Trucks of Year.

Still not satisfied...back to the drawing board... A new custom frame, scissor lift bed, side titling cab, tilt front end, 5 ton rears, and of course 66" tires. Shortly after it's debut in Philadelphia World of Wheels Car Show, A sponsorship with Kenwood Stereo and World Wide Stereo emerged. Rick began campaigning the World's Largest Car Stereo throughout the East Coast and Mid-West. "Bow Tie Affair" was fitted with 158 Kenwood Speakers, 11 amplifiers, producing close to 8000 watts or power. After four years, "Bow Tie Affair" was retired. 

While on the road with "Bow Tie Affair", Joe from Grizzly Off Road in New Jersey, approached Rick to build a chassis for his show truck, "Grizzly". This was the beginning of Raab Custom Off Road Fabricating.

Eleven plus turn-key truck later, Raab Custom is still going strong, now concentrating on performance monster trucks and tough truck chassis's. Some of the trucks are Grizzly, Grizzly Thunder,  Red-Hot and Total Obse$$ion to name a few. 

Rick is the current driver for American Guardian Monster Truck. Visit the USHRA web site for scheduled appearances. Rick started to drive for Guardian in the 2002 and quickly earned the name of "Radical Rick". After the winter season, the truck was re-built and is kick'n up the dust again this year.

Rick is married to Ellen with two daughters, Amanda (5) and Vanessa (2). He is President of Raab Well Drilling Inc., a third generation drilling company located in Bucks County, PA.
