Deliverance a commentary!
Luke 1:68-73
Blessed be the LORD GOD of Israel; for HE hath visited and redeemed HIS people, and hath raised up an horn of salvation for us in the house of HIS servant David; as HE spake by the mouth of HIS HOLY Prophets, which have been since the world began. That we should be saved from our enemies, and from the hand of all that hate us, to perform the mercy promised to our fathers, and to remember HIS HOLY COVENANT. The oath which HE sware to our father Abraham, that HE would grant unto us, that we being delivered out of the hand of our enemies might serve HIM without fear, in holiness and righteousness before HIM, all the days of our life.

I started having dreams, sometimes visions or a daydream of a face that resembled a goat, with horns like a combination of a walrus tusk, and a buffalos horns. It had steely blue-gray eyes, and when the eyes would look at me it felt as if I had been pierced with a thousand arrows. I knew instinctively that this was evil, but in my arrogance I thought it was the devil himself. I remember that I would feel my body go rigid and tense trying to resist with all my strength. And when it finally would go away, I would be exhausted. I thought that I had resisted of myself and I would taunt the devil and tell him that he would never get me! I would say: Im Taurus the Bull! And you better not mess with me. Oh, how cocky I was in my ignorance! I have subsequently learned that the demonic face was indeed the face of the prince of the air, beelzebub. And the last time several years ago that it appeared to me I just looked up and said: JESUS, Im in your hands. Whatever happens its up to YOU LORD! And you know what happened? The demonic face shimmered and the exact same face of the LORD JESUS that was on a painting that hangs over so many church podiums took its place and I experienced the most wonderful peace that I have ever known! Now, I know that this account is hard to believe, but as The HOLY SPIRIT is my witness, I was not on drugs nor alcohol when this occurred nor was I on any prescription drugs. My faith in the LORD was all it took. God is not moved by our wants, needs, or desires. God is moved by our faith in HIM!. If any one anywhere will put their trust in the LORD and build up your faith (faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the WORD of GOD), they will always receive from the LORD! 2 Corinth. 3:17 Now, the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. Mark 16: 17,18 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; 18: They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

Now, we must understand that to believe, means to (cling to, to adhere to, to accept and immerse oneself into that particular way of life or doctrine!) In other words if you are a Christian (one of Christs own), a born again by the spirit, believer, then you may use the power of Christ as described in Mark 16:17 & 18 to cast out devils and/or any demonic or satanic presence. But, rest assured that an actual exorcism using the power of the LORD must be in agreement with and by the direction of the HOLY SPIRIT! Otherwise, look what happens when unbelievers attempt this power!
Acts 11:13-19 Then certain of the vagabond Jews, exorcists, took upon them to call over them which had evil spirits the name of the Lord Jesus, saying, We adjure you by Jesus whom Paul preacheth. 14: And there were seven sons of one Skiva, a Jew, and chief of the priests, which did so. 15: And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye? 16: And the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, and overcame them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded. 17: And this was known to all the Jews and Greeks also dwelling at Ephesus; and fear fell on them all, and the name of the Lord Jesus was magnified. Hebrews 12:24 And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel. Hebrews 12:20 Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, Hebrews 2:10: For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings. 11: For both he that sanctifieth and they who are sanctified are all of one: for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren, 12: Saying, I will declare thy name unto my brethren, in the midst of the church will I sing praise unto Thee. 13: And again, I will put my trust in him. And again, Behold I and the children which God hath given me. 14: Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; 15: And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.

In summary;
We, as spirit filled Christians can operate in the ministry of deliverance because it is the power of the LORD that delivers. However, unless we are directed by the Holy Spirit, in HIS time, then it is dangerous to try to cast out a spirit. We could do more harm to the one under bondage if we do not know what we are doing, or if we are acting on our own understanding instead of the prompting of the Holy Spirit. We can, and I strongly recommend that we do, effectively bind the spirits in the Name of JESUS and then pray and seek guidance from the Word, from the HOLY SPIRIT, and from a deliverance minister or other ordained servant of the LORD. 1
