The Murry family has some very strange people in it. The two parents are scientists, Meg is incredible at math but does not get along with anyone, and Charles Wallace is a genius at age five. The kids meet a boy called Calvin. They all try to save their father, who is trapped on a strange world while trying to tesser. Then Charles Wallace comes down with a strange sickness and will die if Meg, Calvin, and a few others don't get the Echtroi out. Sandy and Dennys Murry get stuck in a story from the bible and have to get back to their time before they are taken by the flood.
