Sakura Kinomoto is a ten-year old girl who released the magical clow cards. She is a very kind and naive person, who is easily tricked. She is also very clever with the help of her two guardians Keroberos and Yue, Tomoyo, And Li Shaoran. She also will become the mistress of the clow cards.

He is one of Clow Reed's direct decendants, which is why he posesses magical powers of his own. He comes from Hong Kong to capture the clow cards. At first, he looks at Sakura as an unworthy rival in the capture of the clow cards, but later on they become friends. He is usually a shy, quiet boy, who usually turns red and flees the area whenever he sees someone he likes. He is very naive and is usually tricked by ridiculous lies. His weapon of choice would be his magical sword.

Keroberos is also known as the "Guardian Beast of the Seal" who guards the book of Clow. Astonished that the the clow cards have been released during his 30-year sleep, he appoints Sakura as the cardcaptor to capture all the clow cards. He comes in the form of a winged teddy bear, which he explains is only his false form. To revert to his true form, Sakura must capture the clow cards that posess his given elements. Keroberos represents the sun and controls the clow cards Earthy, Firey, and Light. He adores sweets (though he doesn't really need to eat) and likes playing video games. He pretends to be Sakura's stuffed toy.

Yue is the second guardian of Sakura. While the job of Kero is to appoint the mistress of the clow cards, it is his job to test if the person is worthy of caring for the clow cards. His false form is actually Yukito, who is Sakura's crush. He looks very similar to an angel in his true form, while his false form is human. Unlike Kero who is cheerful and active, Yue is more cold and reserved. He believes nobody is capable of replacing Clow Reed as their master. He represents the moon and controls Watery, Windy, and Dark.

She is Sakura's best friend and the only other person who knows about the clow cards. She enjoys taking videos of Sakura while capturing clow cards, and makes costumes for her as well. She has a great singing voice. She can be very quirky at times, but she can be very sensitive of others.

He is an exchange student from England who is actually the reincarnation of Clow Reed. He is very sophisticated and refined. He is also very charming. He has superior magical capabilities to that of Sakura. He causes trouble around the city in order to force Sakura to change the clow cards into sakura cards. His guardians are Spinel Sun or Suppi and Ruby Moon or Nakuru.

One guardian of Eriol. He resembles a small black cat with wings as hi false form. He doesn't like sweets because one taste can make him drunk and causes him consume all the sweets in area. This fact makes him the favorite target of Nakuru. He is quite the opposite of Kero because he can be rather cold and apathetic.

He is Sakura's older brother, who enjoys teasing Sakura and comparing her to a monster. He has the ability to see ghosts and used to tell Sakura, the reason she's so afraid of ghosts. Deep down inside, he's very protective of Sakura.
