HomeWork  Policy

We feel homework is important for these reasons:

             A. Provides extra time for students who do not complete assignments during school.
             B. To help develop organizational skills and improve study habits which are especially important because students are preparing for high school.
             C. To encourage parental involvement in the child's educational program.
             D. To provide the opportunity for reinforcement of specific skills.

Homework is considered part of the academic program.  It is the student's responsibility to
complete and return homework on time. Neglecting to do so will result in lowered grades or failure in that subject.

The school board has established the following guidelines for homework.

Grade 1-          Once a week; short assignments.
            Grade 2 & 3     Twice a week; short assignments.

Grade 7 & 8    An average of one hour minimum for passing work on a daily basis.
