I Have a Country In My Mind

I have a country in my mind -
  A land of blooming trees.
This country one can never reach
  And nobody sees.

But I behold this joyful land -
  The land devoid of woe
This land, the origins of which
  Sprang up so long ago.

But little change the years have brought.
  This world is evergreen.
  Among its little silver streams
  You never can feel mean.

  Without wonders one can't live,
  As many people deem.
The land of miracles and joy
  Is always in my dream.

And there is a tiny star,
  Which from afar is seen.
It's like a gem. It shines so bright.
  Its light is yellow-green.

The land of dreams I won't lose.
  Nor I will go astray
For then this little sparkling star
  Will always show the way.

And I will say "You boring folk,
  Of science and of law!
Don't say that miracles can't be,
  For miracles I saw.

It's me, who brought this land to life,
  And made it so fine
And it will live until I die.
Its death will come with mine.

And if you think that I am wrong,
Well! Go then, and you'll see.
If only it lets you come in
  And be inside with me."

And you will see a fair wood,
  A river, and a lake,
And all the things from small to great
  You will not then forsake.

And you will say, "Indeed, we see.
  These miracles are good.
This world gives hope to us anew,
And puts us in a better mood."
And I will say "O welcome, guests,
Come in, and don't be shy.
This world is yours a"s well as mine!
  O welcome, passers-by!"

It seems we have a new Poet

MERCEDES

Mercedes, Mercedes, sweet Mercedes.
I would love to have one.
It will attract hot ladies.
It would be fun to drive one in the sun.
They are small.
I'd like one the color blue.
I could drive one ten feet tall.
I could take you to the zoo.
Mercedes, Mercedes, sweet Mercedes.
I would love to have one.
