MY RESUME Summary I am currently working at IIIT Hyderabad. I have total 12 years experience and for the last over 3.5 yrs in IT. I design and develop software for Center for IT in Education at IIIT. The center is being funded jointly by ILI (USA), Media Labs Asia (GoI) and IIIT Hyderabad. My skill set includes PHP, VB.Net, ASP.Net, XML and C. I have also developed an e-commerce site for Banaras Beads Ltd. (www.banarasbeads.com). Work Experience Dec'2004 onwards Research Engineer,cITe, IIIT Hyderabad, Gachibowli, Hyderabad Project 1 - Working on E-Learning project sponsored by Media Labs Asia The project aims to internationalize a Multimedia Authoring Tool developed at Walt Disney Inc. It is open-source software, whose source code is being customized to suit our purpose. The Authoring Tool has a graphical IDE running on a Virtual Machine. It was developed using SmallTalk-80 computer language, which has in-built BDF fonts with limited use. For internationalization, we wish to use Unicode(U-8) compliant fonts, which will be rendered using BiDi-Algorithm. We are using ICU(IBM) font engine to import Devanagiri/Telugu fonts into the software. Responsibilities - Conduct bi-quarterly week long teacher training workshop Train a group of teachers in open source multimedia authoring tool to develop content for children. Content developed demonstrates how we use science in our daily life. Training ranges from collecting multimedia resources from the internet and center's website to developing complete lessons in various mother tongues. Content is developed using latest internationalization techniques. March'04 - Nov'04 Sr. Executive, Sahara India Parivar, Command Office, Lucknow Project 1 - Online MIS Report Generation and Viewing Develop a MIS Report Generation, Data Storage and Retrieval Software for Group's Para-banking Division. The Front end was in Visual Basic and Backend in Visual FoxPro. Reports were generated using Crystal Reports for the period 1996-2004. Other features were - choice of the type of Report, month and year of the Report to be viewed and pie charts. Responsibility 1. Analysis, design and programming of the project. 2. Generate crystal reports. Tools Used : Visual Basic 6.0, Visual FoxPro 6.0 and Crystal Reports 8.0 Team Size : 5 Project 2 - Develop a web based mail tracking and attachment stripping portal The site could store data of approx. 8000 mails per day. It stores details of mails viz. ref. no., date, mail id, scanned image, etc. You can also retrieve the data from the database. It generates department-wise reports of mails received, replied, pending as percentage, action taken, time taken to reply. Cover letter can be generated with name of person, designation and current date. Security features include IP-based login. The software can strip attachments from any incoming mail. It can also send out mail with attached files to a number of selected/entered mail-ids. Used VBA classes for selecting incoming mail, stripping attachments and storing them in user determined folders in a single form. A user interface was provided which could mark mails with attachments and select the folder where the attachment should be stored. Tools Used - PHP 5.0, MySQL 4.1, Windows IIS Server 6.0, VBA 6.0 & MS Outlook. Team size - 8 Project 3 - Develop online up-to-date company/territory/zone level report The software was used to manipulate data of Total Cash Collection (TCC) of the company. This web based application had user login, user IP validation, add new user, display company-wise/territory- wise/zone-wise TCC report of any date, previous date and cumulative up-to-date position. It can also store images of correspondences in the database as BLOB and retrieve them. It runs a VB based EXE application as a web page for inserting and viewing data of department correspondence. It also uses a C program to create tables and import data from Visual Foxpro files into MySQL database. The web portal was customized to run on local computer on either Apache or Windows IIS Server. Tools Used - PHP, VB 6.0, C, MySQL and Apache 2.0 Sept'95 - March'04 Research Engineer, Center for Information Technology in Education, IIIT Hyderabad. Project 1 - Content Development using Multimedia for e-learning Responsibility Project to deliver quality science education to children. Train teachers in multimedia tools for developing content. Identify a suitable tool and modify it to suit local/regional need. Tools Used : Director, Flash, Photoshop, Adobe Premier. Project 2 - Virtual Laboratory for Physics Responsibility Develop experiments for physics as part of a virtual laboratory for school children. A set of experiments were developed to demonstrate graphical simulation of virtual laboratory. Tools Used : OpenGL, Visual Python, QT and Alice. Project 3 - Multimedia Database Website Responsibility Develop a website for storing, searching and retrieving multimedia resources like images, videos, audio, scripts and animations, etc. Tools Used : PHP 4.0, MySQL 4.0, Apache Server 2.0 April'95-Aug'96 Assistant Manager, Subhash Projects and Marketing Ltd., Surat Project Management for setting up a 4000 LPH mineral water plant at Surat, Gujarat Responsibilities: 1. Implementation of the project on site in record time. 2. Supervision of civil construction and logistics of the project. 3.
