Harmonica Zeke with harmonica and guitar.

Harmonica Zeke, a.k.a. Captain Harmonica, was born in 1951 in Hanover, Germany of Slavic parents. At 16 he left home to criss-cross all over the States from roadhouse to cafe, singing of minorities, of protest and the road, all the while drawing out the secrets of the little instrument that earned him both a living and a name.

By 1969, the Vietnam war drove Zeke northward. He travelled from Vancouver to Halifax and settled, temporarily, in northern Ontario. Around this time he picked up a guitar and a unique way of playing it. Zeke is left handed and plays a right-handed guitar "upside down". A dynamic alloy of muscle, wood, wind and metal was born. This precise and enigmatic technique takes the listner on a most unexpected path of accoustic Blues.
