Ninja are spies and assassins par excellence. It’s a foolish daimyo that doesn’t at least consider using ninja against his rivals. Ninja can be sent out to kill important people in other clans, including emissaries, taisho and the daimyo himself. The more important a target the ninja is sent against, the lower his chances of success. Master and legendary ninja who have already carried out many successful missions can also be used during sieges. They can sneak into a castle and open the gates for the attackers! Each time a ninja manages to complete a mission he gains experience and will have a higher chance of success the next time he is sent out — assuming that he isn’t caught and executed (in some appropriately horrible fashion) by the opposition, of course!

Although many Ninja techniques have been lost over time and indeed many were never understood by outsiders, a few are known to historians and martial arts researchers. An example of the versatility and resourcefulness of the ninja can be illustated by studying their multi-purpose equipment and a few of their tricks.

Weapons
The ninjas sword must be the most well known and accepted weapon of a ninja, The ninja sword has surved multipule purposes in assisting a ninja with his killing techiniques, The Straighter Ninja sword was diffrent from the curved Samurai sword in the shape and use.

The scabbard (sword casing) was a multi-purpose tool: it could serve as a blow-gun, a hidding place for small objects and a snorkel-like breathing tube

With the sharp end of the sword casing thrust into the ground the sword could be used as a step to help the ninja reach the top of a wall, in addition, the large hilt or hard guard of the ninja sowrd could be used as a tool to remove nails, for example or door hindges, or assist as a climbing tool.

The second most known weapon of choice for a ninja would be the throwing blades, A Ninja's throwing blades also known as the shuriken, These existed in many varieties, and like all ninja weapons, are not toys. They are popular in motion pictures but were realy only a small part of the ninja arsenal. A ninja's skills and training would allow him to throw a blade across a room and hit his target with extream accuracy, also used as a distraction, he would throw multipule blades to distract his enemy then charge while the enemy is dodging them. Most ninja would create there own throwing blades, and when possible would retreave them after a fight.

Many diffrent types of climbing tools and hooks assisted the Ninja in tackling more difficult obstacles. The rope or chain attached to the Kagi-nawa(hook/grab link) was light and thin, but very strong, and was also suitable for use by the resourceful ninja to bind captured foes or lay traps.

Uniform
The ninja's mask completed his uniform, and left only a small part of his face uncovered, allowing him to hind in the shadows and become invisible in darkness. A shinobi Zukin (mask) can be made of a square yard of light weight, dark cloth into a triangle, put it over his head and held it as shown in the photo, He then tied the ends in back and arranged the cloth so the back if his head was hidden. You can also make a ninja mask out of a t-shirt as shown in one of the shaggy shows, MCL Shaggy

Armor
Because of the need for stealth, speed and silence, the ninja did not wear armor. But in certain cases a ninja might have worn Kusari-Katabira(chest armor) under his uniform.Similar in appearance to chain mail, but lighter, It protects his heart from blows that managed to get through his defence!

Form and function were important in the ninja's footwear called Waraji, as well. With a sole made of light woven straw or fiber, traction was excellent on slippery surfaces. The split-toe facilitated scalling barriers like the sheer walls of enemy fortresses, also with the toes-bound the feets natural cusion is thicker making it easier to fall from high heights such as out of trees or off tall walls.

Knowledge
Through there detailed study of nature, the ninja learned many techniques that assisted them during their missions, carfull observation of his surroundings gave the ninja helpful information. Since these techniques are based on the unchanging principles of nature, they can still be used today.

The sensitive eye of the common cat dilated diffrently depending on the time of day. By looking at a cats pupil, the ninja could tell approximately what time it was. The only thing preventing the ninja from inventing the first wrist watch was the cat's refusal to stay on his arm.
