Our Trip to Oregon
Here are a few pictures of our trip to Oregon over the Christmas Holidays. The earth is full of God's glory.
The scenery in Oregon is beautiful. Most of the plants (trees, bushes, grass) stay green throughout the winter because they are natuarally occurring evergreens. During our vacation in Oregon, saw Mt Hood and the beach at Tellamook, OR. Portland is a very large city, and the people we met there were very friendly. You will find pictures of these places below.
Mt Hood:
My father lives in vancouver, WA, and Mt Hood can be seen from there. In this picture, we were still about 70 miles away. Mt Hood is a dormant volcano reaching 12,000 ft high.
These pictures were taken on the way to Mt Hood.
In this picture, you can see clouds in the distance. This picture was taken from the base of Mt Hood.
This is a picture of The Sisters (another mountain) in the distance. It was taken from the middle of Mt. Hood. You can also see clouds in this picture.
Picture of Rebecca, Dax (my stepmother's nickname), and myself. We were freezing in this picture. The temperature was in the mid 20s, but the wind made it feel much colder..
Our Trip to the Beach in Oregon:
As we drove to Tellamook, OR (about 2 hrs drive from Portland), there was a winter storm warning for Portland and the surrounding areas. Here is a picture taken in the mountain pass, which we had to travel through to get to the beach.
This picture was taken from a cliff on the side of a mountain.
This is the opposite side of the road where the pictures above were taken.
We stopped at a place called Hugger's Cove so that Rebecca could look for a place to live close to the whales.
My dad and Dax (my stepmother) are acting goofy as usual at Hugger's Cove.
Rebecca looks for a home.
A beautiful waterfall at Hugger's Cove.
