arton ek tou ouranou edwken autoiV fagein |

and rained upon them manna to eat, and gave them the bread of heaven |
He gave them bread out of heaven to eat |
And he rained down manna upon them to eat, And gave them food from heaven |
| Comments: The NT and the LXX agree. The NRSV translates: “he rained down on them manna to eat, and gave them the grain of heaven.” The Hebrew word is dagan, meaning corn or grain. |
