New Testament - Ephesians 4.26

orgizesqe kai mh amartanete:

Septuagint

Be ye angry, and sin not; feel compunction upon your beds for what ye say in your hearts.  Pause

New Testament

Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down on your wrath

Masoretic Text

Stand in awe, and sin not:  Commune with your own heart upon your bed, and be still.  Selah

Comments:  The RSV translates the beginning of 4.4 as, “Be angry, but sin not” while the NIV has “In your anger do not sin.”  It may be that the translators have departed from the Hebrew in this instance.  If so, that would explain why UBS indicates this quotation departs from the sense of the Hebrew.
