Psalm 118.6 |
kurioV emoi bohqoV,
|
wste qarrountaV hmaV legein:
|
The Lord is my helper; I will not fear what man shall do unto me |
So that with good courage we say, The Lord is my helper; I will not fear; What shall man do unto me? |
Jehovah is on my side; I will not fear: What can man do unto me? |
Comments: Note that the Greek is identical. The difference in reading is due to a difference in presumed punctuation. The MT replaces the image of the Lord as helper with the related idea that He is on the psalmist’s side. |
