|
My son, despise no the chastening of the Lord; nor faint when thou art rebuked of him: for whom the Lord loves, he rebukes, and scourges every son whom he receives |
and ye have forgotten the exhortation which reasoneth with you as with sons, My son, regard not lightly the chastening of the Lord, Nor faint when thou art reproved of him; For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and he scourgeth every son whom he receiveth |
My son, despise not the chastening of Jehovah; Neither be weary of his reproof: For whom Jehovah loveth he reproveth; Even as a father the son in whom he delighteth |
Comments: The MT ending here is decidedly
different.
Codex Vaticanus is the only major manuscript containing elegcei. The others have paideuei, with the NT. |
