I became manifest to them that asked not for me; I was found of them that sought me not:  I said, Behold, I am here, to a nation, who called not on my name 

And Isaiah is very bold and saith, I was found of them that sought me not; I became manifest unto them that asked not of me

I am inquired of by them that asked not for me; I am found of them that sought me not:  I said, Behold me, behold me, unto a nation that was not called by my name

The MT replaces “I became manifest” with “I am inquired of.”  However, the RSV translates this as “I was ready to be sought by those who did not ask for me” and the NIV has “I revealed myself to those who did not ask for me.”  The NASB gives this translation:  “I permitted Myself to be sought by those who did not ask for Me.”  It seems reasonable to conclude that the Hebrew differs in sense at this point from the Septuagint and the New Testament.
