Remnant

Remnant not just a cast off cloth anymore.

Strongs has multiple definitions of remnant and in obedience to my Beloved and my pastor I look them up and share the revelation.

Ex 26:12 Strongs # 5629 cerach a redundancy from 5628 carach primary root to extend (even to excess):- exceeding, hand, spread, stretch self, banish And cerach redundancy

Starting in Lev 14:18 Strongs #3498 yathar a primary root; to jut over or exceed; by implication excel; (intransitive) to remain or be left; cause to leave, cause to abound, preserve:- excel, leave (a remnant), left behind, too much, make plenteous, preserve, (be, let) remain (der- ing- nant) reserve, residue, rest.

Deut 28:54 Strongs# 3499 yether from 3498 yathar. Properly, an overhanging i.e. (by implication) an excess, superiority, remainder, also; a small rope (as hanging free):-+abundant, cord, exceeding, excellency (-ent), what they leave, that hath left, plentifully, remnant, residue, rest, string, with

1kings 14:10 Strongs #310 achar from 309 achar which is a primary root ; to loiter (i.e.be behind) ; by implication to procrastinate;- continue, defer, delay, hinder, be late, (slack), stay, (there) tarry (longer) 310 achar properly the hind part, generally used as an adverb or conjunction after ( in various senses) after (that -ward) again, at, away, from, back, (from-side), behind beside, by, follow, (after, -ing) , forasmuch, from hereafter, hinder end, + out (over) live + persecute, posterity, pursuing, remnant, seeing, since, thence, when with (forth)

2kings 19:4 Strongs# 7611 sheeriyth from 7604shaar a primary root properly to swell up i.e. be (cause make ) redundant:- leave, (be) left, let, remain, remnant, reserve, the rest. Sheeriyth 7611 a remainder or residual (surviving, final) portion:- that had escaped, be left, posterity, remain, (-der) remnant residue rest.

Ezra 3:8 Strongs# 7605 shear from 7604 a remainder:- other, remnant, residue, rest.

Isa 1:9 Strongs # 8300 sariyd from 8277 sarad a primary root properly to puncture ... figuratively the idea of slipping out... to escape or survive remain. 8300 sariyd a survivor :- alive, left, remain, (ing) remnant rest.

Jer 15:11 Strongs# 8293 sheruth from 8281 sharah a primary root :- to free; direct. 8293 sheruth abbreviated freedom:- remnant

And in the greek

Matt 22:6 Strongs # 3062 loipoi masculine plural of a derivative of 3007leipo a primary verb to leave; to fail to be absent :- be destitute (wanting)lack loipoi 3062remaining ones other which remain remnant residue rest.

Rom 9:27 Strongs # 2640 kataleimna from 3641 kataleipo... to leave down i.e. behind; by implication to abandon, have remaining:- forsake, leave, reserve. 2640 kataleimna a remainder ( a few)

Rom 11:5 Strongs # 3005 Leimna from 3007 (see liopoi) a remainder a remnant.

Now there are some themes running through this . First the idea of the cast off the left behind the remainder the rest. Here there are two ways to look at the idea one is the remainder after God has purged away the sin of the flesh and the remnant is what is left. Now how would God do so? Simple cause the faith to be so shaken as to precipitate a great apostasy in the present day church. What if Y2K is not the deal they said it would be or what if it is? What if the prophetic whispers of the demise of this nation at God's hand are true? And what of the survivable first 3 year 6 month period where the tribulation comes but not the great tribulation of the latter half? Any terse study of the last book of the bible will show a picture of natural devastation of epic proportions but it is survivable and the fact that a second even worse thrashing of the planet ends the tribulation period with a whole political regime and standing armies in place only proves the point. For while the first half is bad it is minor. Another way to look at this is the ones left over after the righteous are gone. The ones left behind that are not the bride. Worse still the ones left over who are not of the kingdom period. These are those who are not of the covenant who will be in fire.

Second the idea of the forsaken destitute lacking abandoned ones. These are those who appear to have been tossed away like the stone the builders rejected. Now Jesus is the capstone and cornerstone which the builders threw out as worthless for it did not fit the building they were building! We are just as He was so we are the cornerstone and capstone as well. We don't fit the mold either. We are those who are considered cursed of God despised and abandoned but Jesus told us He would never abandon us. We arw those who lack in and of ourselves but are only complete in Christ. Yet att he same time I see the idea of excellency or excelling and abundance and more than enough. Truly indeed the abundance is Him the excellency is Him. Otherwise we have nothing are nothing will amount to nothing.

Thirdly we are those who are to survive or endure to the end. The end of what; our lives? Not exactly, its to the end of the purging process that removes from us all the chaff and dross, and leaves the Lord in us; a hope and a glory; that is not a shameful thing, but a great joy and freedom from the encumbrance of the baggage that was the flesh in its attitudes and ideologies.

Yet finally I see the implication of an explanation for the dual estates of destitution and abundance side by side with in the life of the remnant. The kingdom in which our all is resting is in spirit and in truth yet the reality around is the apparent lack of real resources. Let me ask you this then. If you are in a job and home situation like the military who moves constantly how much of a root will you lay into the place you are at? None. And then let me ask you? If in such a place you uproot and move what kind of belongings will you desire? Small and light that you may quickly pack and cheaply relocate. Permanence anywhere is not the issue but rather mobility. Yet I see a people who are permanently plunked down in their opulent little castles and comfortable easy chairs. This I am told in scripture is the Babylonian way and the Egyptians were happiest in their palaces.

We are the mobile ones who look to another place where our opulence will be exceeding as a reward for our suffrage of mobile, light and less than in this lifetime.

We are the excellence of God because Jesus is in us by His Spirit.
