1948 Harley Davidson Panhead Chopper
I totally stripped the bike down to bare frame over a three week period in 2002.  I then had the frame powder coated and the fender, oil bag and gas tank painted to match.  Over the next six months I cleaned, repaired and polished each piece as I reassembled the bike.  The bike got a new front tire and a new king/queen seat as a part of the rebuild.  I also took the old SS Super B carb off (to much carb and no acelerator pump) and put on a much more reliable Bendix.  The total cost of the rebuild including powder coat, paint, new parts and bolts ran approximately $2,500 and many, many beers.

The bike is an EL that has been stroked with and FL crank and rods and has an Andrews A grind cam, forking by Frank and a Primo Belt Drive.  In addition the rear brake is juiced while the front remains mechanical.  The stroker has a lot of get up and go, but as with most such setups, poops out around 60 mph.  Besides, after 100 miles on this hardtail and you are ready for a rest and a cold one!
