Team work!
All those words here are just drafts, resumed of what I really want to say. I can't possibly say it all in a few minutes, because this is what I have time; for. Clearly as I said before I was appalled by the hate mongers that come in and put down this place (theglobe.com) because the format changed. I have seen people whine and trample this place only because they have no clue to technology, not that I have a more elaborate clue, but I do have an open mind.
I know that the virtual world changes stuff every minute of the day to make things flow and make things work to a faster speed, given that everything is free somehow bills have to be paid for location and electricity, staff... how do we get those people paid? Eureka! Banners!
People that want to promote their stuff get to display with banner and biscuits!
There's no other way for 'you' to use it for free! Commercialization like you've got on TV. Of course the free loaders will never get the grasp of it all, why even bother explain.
In other sites like CNN, News site etc. have displayed it first. So I was aware of it! I stuck around to help out. I even went so far to take days off work to gather people from my village to explain it all (with a translator to recruit people that have never uses a PCs) My uncle; the village builder made sure that all the Inn's lobbies, clubhouse, lodge, library had a computer with a modem. (just to let local Natives update themselves and reach the modern world) People like "Mispon" never knew what a computer was before I helped introduce it to them. It serve also my purpose because I worked for a computer firm, that gave most of the tools as a contribution to education for free. From Firewalls, to free Internet access as a package deal with the phone lines. (in other words all they need is pay their phone bills)
I held seminars (with a translator) to explain how to make a page, how to get around theglobe.com clubs etc.) people joined only to learn what it was all about.
Andrea and I held competition to themes like "talk about your homeland" thus we build clubs to China, Liechtenstein, Austria, Luxembourg, Switzerland and more, etc. To start club as examples for other people to see how fun it was.
Everyone I knew displayed what they really liked in the virtual world.
Just as fun and volunteering mode to learn. YUbin, help most of the time to find new themes and check new Club owners if they needed help to start a club, enticing conversations. Andrea and Paul help as public relation also so did I.
Delphine made sure to check all the HTML tags and text contributing to science, because that's what she is, a scientist. Just to name a few... to make it short. Clubs were so popular and grew so fast no one would never have thought it would. The hired stuff worked over time to get all the application on time and machine working day and night. If you think this was all done by wiggling a magic wand... you're dreaming standing up like a giraffe! Everyone has become an elicit writer around here, practicing their skills, with a 'Non de plume' as usernames. Those people are for real, if you really know how to read you'd find out that everyone of them has a specific goal and message. But sad to say the virtual world is blind. People use it to cheat on their wives, and girlfriends... people use it to send hate messages behind a fake user name. But I do have some hope left, even if I almost left this space in fear that one day I'll wake up and won't find it anymore, like so many other web sites, I started another playground just to subdue the shock to another pied a terre.
I need my virtual playground like you need food. I need to read what people have to say around the world even if it stinks... but please heap-up your garbage in your own compost bin!
