New Pictures! June 2005
As you can see, i've blown off the whole re-drive thing, and gone to a bon-a-fied aircraft engine, a Continental C-90. I really didn't want the jugs hanging out of the cowling, but after getting the cowling built, it doesn't looks so bad. not, the cowling in this picture still has it's protective plastic cover.  see pictures below.
With the C-90, I needed to re-do the entire front end of the plane. I modified the stock engine mount to mate with the R80 firewall, and re-wired everything!  This picture shows the custom exhaust system built by a friend of mine that builds custom exhaust systems for motorcycle applications.  Came out rather clean I'd say!
With the engine in, Cowling on, and wiring complete, we were ready to take it to it's airport location - Halfmoon bay, CA.
Unloaded an sitting on the Tarmac at Halfmoon Bay Airport. Ready to put the top wings on!
Sitting in the Hanger at Halfmoon Bay Airport.   Note the Cowling looking VERY clean!
It took a couple of hours, but we got the top wings on.  This thing is just about ready for it's maiden voyage!
