Why a 7 Extension to Lower Manhattan and Brooklyn?
By simply not ending the proposed 7 Extension at Javits Center, the 7 will become a new arterial corridor along the West Side Highway/West Street (NY Route 9A) to serve Chelsea, the West Village and Tribeca, areas rapidly growing in the last 25-30 years and projected into the new century. The new route would also serve the new World Trade Center, World Financial Center, Battery Park City and Governors Island.
