| Every racer knows that sooner or later, he's going to "hit the big one". Whether you're talking about the big win, or the big wreck, they happen. This was near the end of last season, and Rod figures they impacted at about 90 mph. Another car spun out in front of him, turning around and heading backwards on the track towards R2K. There was nowhere to go at the moment, and the two cars hit head on. The entire front end from the firewall forward had to be removed and replaced. It took a long time, in which Rod got his engine fine tuned and running the way he wanted it. The wreck caused minor injuries, such as bruising, but we're very thankful there were no broken bones or deaths. |
