Beautiful Costa Rica.....located in Central America, with a territory of only 51.000 sq. miles (0.03% of the surface of our planet) but vast in the richness of its people, scenic beauty and biodiversity (6% of worlds total).  Here you will find, among other things, more species of birds and insects than in all North America,a consolidated system of protected areas, social and political stability, high educational levels and efficient infrastructure and services.  You can move all around the country, from the city into the deep rainforests, wild jungles, peaceful beaches, all in less than three hours by land or 45 minutes by air!!

The average annual temperatures range from 89F (31.7C) on the coast to 62F (17C) inland.  Dry season, or summer, goes from early December to April, and the rainy or "green" season goes from May to November. During this green season it rains almost every afternoon, but the vegetation blooms at its fullest during this period.

We pride ourselves in being one of the few countries where you can still walk the streets peacefully, although normal safety regulations are recommended (being careful with your belongings, not walking alone at night through solitary places, etc.) but the "ticos" will gladly give you directions or help you in our most valued "hospitable" tradition.

Our literacy rate is around 97% and english or french is taught in most schools, so you will be able to find a helping hand in your own language, or at least a little guide.  Maybe you will learn a few words in Spanish before you leave!

Banking, money exchange, internet access, international telecommunications and services are available throughout the counrtry and major credit cards are accepted in most commercial businesses.
