One little door,
closed for so long,
refusing to believe,
not wanting to belong.

Alone yet safe,
for in control,
blocking out emotions,
hiding behind a wall.

Love had no existence,
for I would not let it live,
your smile, your warmth and your touch,
unlocked that little door.

A new world of colors so bright,
and love so strong,
yet pain so harsh,
