Bittersweet farewell

Licking from my lips,
the pleasent flavor of bitter tears,
which have fallen from my eyes,
caused by my love for you,
the love from which I can’t disguise.

I stand here close to you,
yet so far away,
for so it seems the time as come,
for our bittersweet farewell.

I ask just one favor,
as I abandon our love forever,
in the future as you look into the past,
remember pleasent thoughts over regrets,
I want my name to cause a smile on your face,
and the memory of my kiss,
to leave a sweet taste on your lips.

As I walk away,
I leave you but one kiss,
and a promise that my love shall never die,
please do not stop to ponder,
just what could have been.

I do this out of love,
