Entry for September 18, 2006
Heather and Charley are safe and sound back from their yearly trip to NY city. They attended an Italian fest in Little Italy. I guess it was pretty exciting. Charley is really tired this morning. They didn't get in until around 12:30 or 1:00 am; and she catches the bus at around 7:10. I am sure she will get to bed early tonight. Hunter played football yesterday. Charlie said he had a good game. I guess there is a girl on the other team who was really big. Tallest player and could really run fast. Hunter hold his own, though. I spend Saturday and Sunday with Lib's family. Mike wasn't coming home from Columbus until today. It was kind of hard for her with the 2 little ones by her self. She needed to child proof the downstairs rooms since Alex is now crawling. And, I mean crawling all over. The little squirt just turned 7 months but he is sure active. His legs are always moving. God Bless him and all the grandchildren. Charlie and I are pretty lucky to have such wonderful grandchildren. They have been a true blessing in our lives. I wish that there was more that I could do for them. Dear Lord, Please guide me each day to do Your will. Give me patience, do not make me bitter or nasty, let me think before I do something that will upset You and the ones that I love so very dearly. Amen Today's reading: I look up to the mountain-does my help come from there? My help comes from the Lord, who made the heavens and earth! Just as the mountains surround and protect Jerusalem, so the Lord surrounds and protects His people. The sun will not hurt you by day, nor the moon at night. The Lord keeps you from all evil and preserves your life. The Lord keeps watch over you as you come and go, both now and forever. I lift my eyes to You, O God, enthroned in heaven. We look to the Lord our God for His mercy, just as servants keep their eyes on their master, as a slave girl watches her mistress for the slightest signal. I think how much You have helped me; I sing for joy in the shadow of Your protecting wings. O our God, won't You stop them? We are powerless against this mighty army that is about to attack us. We do not know what to do, but we are looking to You for help. Help us, O Lord our God, for we trust in You alone. My eyes are always looking to the Lord for help, for He alone can rescue me from the traps of my enemies. Our help is from the Lord, who made the heavens and the earth. If you are facing battles you feel you can't possibly win, don't give up. The secret of victory is first to admit the futility of unaided human effort and then trust God to save. His power works best through those who recongnize their limitations. LAB note for 2 Chronicles 14:11. 2006-09-18 11:36:40 GMT
