Entry for September 14, 2006
Dear Lord, Please guide me each day to do Your will. Give me patience, do not make me bitter or nasty, let me think before I do something that will upset You and the ones that I love so very, very dearly. Amen. Today's reading: He will not crush those who are weak. The sacrifice You want is a broken spirit. A broken and repentant heart, O God, You will not despise. He heals the brokenhearted, binding up their wounds. The high and lofty one who inhabits eternity, the Holy One, says this: I live in that high and holy place with those whose spirits are contrite and humble. I refresh the humble and give new courage to those with repentant hearts. For I will not fight against new courage to those with repentant hearts. For I will not fight against you forever; I will not always show my anger. If I did, all people would pass away---all the souls I have made." I will search for My lost ones who strayed away, and I will bring them safely home again. I will bind up the injured and strengthen the weak. When they walk through the Valley of Weeping, it will become a place of refreshing springs, where pools of blessing collect after the rains! So take a new grip with our tired hands and stand firm on yur shaky legs. Mark out a straight path for your feet. Then those who follow you, though they are weak and lame, will not stumble and fall but will become strong. Your God....is coming to save you. God wants a broken spirit and a broken and repentant heart. You can never please God by outward actions---no matter how good---if your heart attitude is not right. Are you sorry for your sins? Do you genuinely intend to stop? God is pleased by this kind of repentance. LAB note for Psalm 51:17. 2006-09-13 12:10:52 GMT
