Dear Lord, Please guide me each day to do Your will.  Give me patience, do not make me bitter or nasty, let me think before I do or say anything that will upset You and the ones that I love so dearly.  Amen.

Today's reading:  A doubtful mind is as unsettled as a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind.  Anyone who puts a hand to the plow and then looks back is not fit for the Kingdom of God.  It is impossible to please God without faith.  Anyone who wants to come to Him must believe that there is a God and that He rewards those who sincerely seek Him.  When you ask Him, be sure that you really expect Him to answer, for a doubtful mind is as unsettled as a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind.  People like that should not expect to receive anything from the Lord.  You can pray for anything, and if you believe, you will have it.  Then we will no longer be like children, forever changing our minds about what we believe because someone has told us something different or because someone has cleverly lied to us and made the lie sound like the truth.  Instead, we will hold to the truth in love, becoming more and more in every way like Christ, who is the head of His body, the church.  Remain in me.  Be strong and steady, always enthusiastic about the Lord's work, for you know that nothing you do for the Lord is ever useless.  Doubt leaves a person as unsettled as restless waves.  If you want to stop being tossed about, rely on God to show you what is the best for you.  Ask Him for wisdon, and trust that He will give it to you.  Then your decisions will be sure and solid.  LAB note for James 1:6-8.
