Back to work Tuesday.   What a wonderful long weekend I had.  Can't believe that the days have come and gone so fast.  Charlie and I got to spend some time together by ourselves.  We so need to do this more and more.  Labor Day was pretty calm.  Charlie and I went to Jordan and Heather's home for the day.  We had an enjoyable dinner.  And, Heather and I didn't even fight.  This is a miracle for us.  But, I really tried not to start any controversial topics.  I guess it worked.

Dear Lord, Please guide me each day to do Your will.  Give me patience, do not make me bitter or nasty, let me think before I do something that will upset You. Amen.

Today's reading:  My feet were slipping, and I was almost gone.  I cried out, "I'm slipping!"  and Your unfailing love, O Lord, supported me.  Simon, Simon, Satan has asked to have all of you to sift you like wheat.  But I have pleaded in prayer for you, Simon, that your faith should not fail.  They may trip seven times, but each time they will rise again.  Though they stumble, they will not fall, for the Lord holds them by the hand.  Do not gloat over me, my enemies!  For though I fall, I will rise again.  Though I sit in darkness, the Lord Himself will be my light.  He will rescue you again and again so that no evil can touch you.  If you do sin, there is someone to plead for you before the Father.  He is Jesus Christ, the one who pleases God completely.  He is able, once and forever, to save everyone who comes to God through Him.  He lives forever to plead with God on their behalf.  Satan wanted to crush Simon Peter and the other disciples like grains of wheat.  He hoped to find only chaff and blow it away.  But Jesus assured Peter that his faith, although it would falter, would not be destroyed.  It would be renewed, and Peter would become a powerful header.  LAB note for Luke 22:31-32.
